Fragfield: Vietnam v0.1
Fragfield: Vietnam, a BFV minimod by RussianComrade
**********
ABOUT
**********
Fragfield: Vietnam follows in the footsteps of Fragfield: 1942, bringing fast-paced, infantry focused action to Battlefield Vietnam. New challenges await as you take on the opposition in full bot-supported maps, using the familiar old weapons with a wicked new twist.
What's different?
Health:
You won’t need to be ducking out of action every time you’re wounded now. Just keep your head down and your health will slowly climb back up to its maximum.Aiming:
You won’t be given the benefit of a crosshair anymore, so aiming from the hip won’t be quite as easy. Zooming in like you normally would brings up the sights on the weapon you’re using, allowing you to hit your targets with precision. You’ll also get a varying amount of zoom, depending on what weapon you’re using.Classes:
Gone are the specific soldier classes that adhered to roles in BFV. Now, you’re given a choice of which weapon to pick, to complement your standard-issue sidearm and knife. Each one has its various merits and disadvantages. Keep in mind that weight plays a major role here – you’ll notice that it’s difficult to get anywhere quickly while lugging a machine gun around.Ammo:
When you reload, you no longer throw away any ammo that was left in the gun. It gets put back into your ammo count for later, a la Call of Duty and most other FPS games.
Battles focus around infantry fighting, although helicopters do make some appearances and there is a dogfight map included for the flyboys. AI support is present on all the maps, and you'll be able to enjoy a drastically improved AI experience now.

NOTES
**********
MiG-17 and Corsair have 2 heatseeker missiles (primary fire) and 2 bombs (secondary fire), while the Phantom has 6 missiles (primary fire), but can spam them all at once with secondary fire. Why? Because it's cool to watch.
Heatseeker missiles are much more accurate but move slower. Evading them is a bit harder than before. The Corsair and MiG-17 will start burning and heading to the ground with a single hit, so get your dodging skills happening.
M-16 is rather unreliable, there's only a 33% chance you'll get one that can empty an entire magazine in auto without it 'jamming'. The others will stop firing for a short while, if you hold down the fire button they'll keep firing a few shots at a time. If the kill message says 'M-16' you've got a defective rifle, but if it says 'M-16A1' then you won't have any jamming issues. The default BFV M-16 is also coded for Fragfield's system as an unjammable rifle.
M-16 starts with 18 rounds in the magazine. 20-round M-16 magazines tended to jam when filled to the maximum, although you when you reload you will have 20 rounds.
AI tends to be pretty godlike both on foot and in the air now (thanks to Grenademan for heli code). They'll use handweapons against choppers, and expect to see a lot of SA-7s flying at you in Island, not to mention air-to-air missiles from enemy choppers.

Adz – for creating the BFV ironsight mod which was a major breakthrough in BF modding.
Toucinator – co-working on the Graveyard map, odd little bits of feedback and support over the years.
Grenademan – the best AI mod out there, AIEV. Learnt a lot about what you can get the bots to do.
Odanan – BFV Arsenal mod project, which really got me into creating major mods, plus the remodelled M-14 sights, revamped MiG-17, and air-to-air missile textures.
Herc – help and advice on 3DSMax which I wouldn’t have gotten by without.
DICE – creating Battlefield 1942 and Vietnam, the two games that never grow old for me.
