Hi!

Es gibt Neuigkeiten zur nächsten BF2CC Version:

We are still hard at work on the Daemon, while still adding feaures to the client and supporting our forums. There will be a new Remote Client released as soon as it passes our private beta groups. It adds the following features:

* Added In Game Chat (50 Message Buffer)

* Added Kill Player (Only works when Round has officially started)

* Added Switch Player to other team

* Added Auto Balance Button

* Added Restart Map Button

* Added Admin Chat Name to Login Screen ? Shows which Admin is speaking to server

* Added Nested MDI Tabs

* Changed ? Pressing the RETURN Key after typing into the textbox on the toolbar now sends a message to the server, rather than a console command. Message button swapped locations with Console Button

* Changed ? Moved Team Flag Icon column in between ID and Name (Columns have always been movable, just drag the header)

Ok, weitere Neuigkeiten:

We are very close to releasing the Daemon to our private Beta Testers. I'm almost certain that the Daemon will be available to the public this coming week. We have been slowed slightly from having to support a demo release as well as some unforeseen technical compatibilities with linux. We have also taken some extra time to beef up the python scripts. The default python scripts had absolutely no way to recover or report errors. Ron has added extensive error handling as well as error logging to the Python scripts. This should help those admins having mysterious and unexplained issues with their Rcon going dead. Hopefully these problems can be avoided with the new error handling, or fixed once we can view the logs of systems having trouble. Here is a screenshot of our User Accounts front end. We have created some generalized roles for the first release. I will add very granular roles on a per setting basis soon after the 1st release.

Moin,

was haltet ihr (fachlich) von diesem Artikel:

http://www.warumdarum.de/modules.php?name=...article&sid=243

June 29, 2005 - Another Daemon Update

    A beta version of the Daemon will be going out to many testers in a few hours. There's very little left to finish. As soon as it is deemed stable and reliable, it can go public. Ron and I both have plans for the holiday weekend, so whether this version is released before the weekend has not been decided yet. It might be best to keep it private until we both return, so that we may be around for support.

    We have been listening carefully to the community in regards to requested features. Most of the features requested are already on our list. The first release of the Daemon/Client won't have many of the features requested enabled yet. We don't want to have too many new things in such an important release. As soon as the holiday weekend is over and we are positive that the Daemon is performing the way we want, we will enable and continue to add features.

    Features in the Next Release of the BF2CC Daemon and Client

    * In Game Chat Log (50 Message Buffer)

    * Ability to Start/Stop and Restart (On Crash) Server Remotely (Daemon Mode Only)

    * User Accounts with Role Based Permissions (Daemon Mode Only)

    * Profile Management (Daemon Mode Only)

    * Change Map Sizes on the Fly

      Features to be Added in Future Releases:

    * Automatic Administration Features

          o Smart Team Balance

          o Auto Kick High Pings

          o Smart Shrink/Grow Map Size

          o Auto Kick Idle Players

    * Take View PB Screenshots

    * Player Grid Customization

          o Add connection duration time/ idle time

          o view assigned squad

          o Ability to add/remove columns

    * Banlist - Add Extra Information Including Admin, Date/Time, Reason, Player Name, Duration

    * Player Punishment - Kill, Fling

    Here is a screenshot of the client in 1600 x 1200 on my desktop. You can see the use of unlimited multiple nestings of the MDI forms

-noquitprompt Disables the GUI Prompts when quitting the daemon.

-autostart Automatically launches the BF2 server with the last/default profile when the Daemon is started

-locknetsettings Locks the BF2 network settings controls on the Client. This is a provider request so that users can't screw up their BF2 network settings.

-bf2settingsdir Sets the folder to the bf2 (.con) settings files, for unning multiple inst

Ok, weitere News vom Donnerstag:

We are hoping to have another release to our beta testers tomorrow evening. If we can get everything on our list into that build and it is running well, we will probably release it on Sunday night. This new version has a lot of changes and additions as well as many bug fixes. It also relies on a totally new script system. Due to the amount of work that has been done and still has to be done, we can't guarantee a Sunday night release but that is our best guess for now.

I just released a new beta to our testers. We probably have 2-3 days work to make to finish polishing everything and ensure a quality release. We are also working on some new documentation and walkthroughs.

Hi!

The newest version of the Daemon, Client and ModManager scripts were just released to the private testers. This is a very good version. I want to write some more documentation and tutorials before we do an official public release. This means that the newest versions will most likely be released on Sunday Night.

Our beta testers have the latest release candidate and we have authorized some providers to allow groups of customers to test this release. We had to modify the idle player kick function with some more logic. We also found a bug which prevented servers from automatically rebooting after closing the daemon. These changes will require at least 1 more day of testing.

We are classifying this next release as a public beta release. We know that the public beta release is completely stable and shouldn't have any "show stopper" bugs but we are recommending that providers carry out their own testing before rolling out the software onto ALL of their servers. We have added quite a few handy features to allow providers to use the daemon more easily. Any users who have complete remote access to their servers will easily be able to use the daemon without issue. We will probably be making new releases of the daemon 1 to 2 times a month. Client updates may come more often since they won't require any server maintainence.

This release also adds the following auto-administration features:

    * Priority Based Smart-Balance

    * High Ping Kick

    * Idle Player Kick

    * Switch Teams at End of Round

    * Auto-Messages

    * Chat Filtering for Banned Words (warns/kicks/bans)

We are making some last minute additions and fixes. We will need to have a few testers play with the versions for an hour or so before they go public. It's 7:30 PM EST. I would suspect a public release around Midnight EST.

bf2cc.com

in den nächsten Tagen erfolgen.

I've posted a new Beta version to the testers. Assuming that it works ok, I'm going to make this version available ASAP as it has some changes and fixes that everyone can benefit from. Check back soon for an update. If you want to see a change log see this post.

I will be Releasing this to the public as soon as the testers can confirm that the downloads are working and that nothing serious needs to be changed. I'll check in on them at about 10:00 PM EST tonight Saturday

Daemon 1.0.2058 + Client 1.0.2057 ChangeLog

** CHANGED Default Daemon Port is now set to 4712 and Default Rcon Port set to 4711. We are recommending these new ports due to

ISP's blocking 6711 & 6712 due to a common Trojan. This was causing users to have connectivity issues. If you or your

clients can't connect a client to Daemon, and you are 100% positive the port is open, we recommend changing the daemon port.

** FIXED (Client Bug) Users can now switch from Non-Ranked backed to Ranked after they have launched a NON-Ranked server with a password.

There is now a "Rankings Enabled" Check Box in the General Server Settings. This Checkbox will only be visible to users who connect

to a Daemon started with the "-ranked" parameter.

** FIXED (Client Bug) Users in "Trusted R-Con" were able to open the Admins,Auto-Admin forms, and Dashboard.

These are reserved for Daemon mode only. Toolbar Buttons are Now Disabled Properly for Trusted R-Con Mode as well.

** FIXED (Client Bug) Large Ban Times would cause an overflow error

** FIXED (Client Bug) Right Clicking on the last word of the last line in the chat window caused an overflow exception

** FIXED (Client Bug) Importing Banned Words now works better for users who paste banned words lists instead of typing them.

** FIXED (Client Bug) Exporting Banned Words only worked when exporting to an existing file

** CHANGED BF2CC.com Spam Message Interval Changed to 20 minutes

** CHANGED Auto-Messages are now based on a rotating/looping system with dynamic delay per message. Delay is in SECONDS now instead of Minutes

Make sure you EDIT your Auto-Message Delays to account for Seconds!

** CHANGED (Client) Connection timeout increased from 6 to 45 seconds to account for DNS issues.

** ADDED (Client & Windows Daemon) .NET Framework 1.1 Check

** ADDED (Client) -nosplash parameter now accepted. It disables the splash screen

** ADDED (Daemon) -dontpassthru parameter. +config, +mapList etc. are NOT passed on to the bf2_w32ded.exe process.

** KNOWN ISSUE: Using PB kicks does NOT always work 100% of the time. We have narrowed this down to a bug in PunkBuster. To verify this,

you can try a command 'pb_sv_kick "playername"' directly into the console of the BF2 dedicated server when BF2CC is unabled

to perform a PB Kick on a player. You will see that PB errors out. Unfortunately, we are unable to parse PB output due to another PB bug. This means that for now

BF2CC will be unaware of the inability to PB kick a player. You can deselect the 'Use PB Kicks' option in the options of the BF2CC

client and do a regular manual kick to get that player off of your server.

** NOTE: The Daemon <-> Client version checking has not been updated for this version. This is to allow users who need a longer connection timeout

to use the new client with the old daemon until their Provider updates the daemon. The only feature that won't work correctly is the

auto-messages. They will still work using the old method but not the new rotating message system.

Hi!

Es gibt weitere Infos zur nächsten Version:

We are aiming for a new release of the Daemon and Client for when the next BF2 patch is released. We have no idea when the patch is coming or what will be in it. If we learn anything of any importance, we will post it. Obviously, once we learn of a tentative release date for the patch, we will wrap up development of any new features and fixes and post that information so that admins will know what to expect from the next release.
