Auszug:
To All Soldiers,
The recent unveiling of our Battlefield 1942: Secret Weapons of WWII expansion pack has caused quite a stir in the community and we wanted to clarify our intent to further enhance Battlefield 1942.
The goal of this expansion pack is to bring actual World War II "Secret Weapons" that were on the drawing board during the later portion of the war - to life. With that in mind, we're sticking with the same action/arcade environment that we laid the foundation for in the original Battlefield 1942. One of the many things that makes Battlefield 1942 such a successful (and fun) game is the "rock-paper-scissors" style of balance that we've tried to build into every map, weapon, and soldier class. That same balance will not be compromised with Secret Weapons of WWII, but rather embraced with deeper gameplay through the various secret weapons and their unique capabilities.
Since the jetpack seems to be the topic of most BF1942 communities, we wanted to ensure you that it will not create an unbalanced battlefield. Nor will any given map in the expansion pack be over-populated with this unique item. Rest assured, we're striving to balance the playing field regardless of what is put into the game. With that, we wanted to introduce you to the upcoming items found in Battlefield 1942: Secret Weapons of WWII.
NOTE: These stats are for the actual expeirmental aircraft. The AW-52 will be armed in the expansion pack. Stay tuned for another featured vehicle (and screenshots) next week.
