Näheres zur Secret Weapons Demo
Auf der offiziellen Battlefield 1942 Webseite von Electronic Arts sind seit heute einige neue Informationen zur bald erscheinenden Multiplayer-Demo des Addons Secret Weapons of WWII erhältlich. Auch ein Count-Down Zähler, der die Zeit bis zum Release der Demo anzeigt, ist auf der Webseite zu finden. Dieser zählt meiner Rechnung nach auf kommenden Freitrag, den 8. August um 21 Uhr morgens, unserer Zeit. In der Demo werden von 16 neuen Fahrzeugen ganze 10 enthalten sein. Zwei Screenshots zur SW Demo wurden heute bereits veröffentlicht. Damit das Warten bis Freitag nicht zu lange wird, haben die Entwickler morgen bereits weitere Shots versprochen. Lassen wir uns mal überraschen. Ein Download wird die Demo zum neuen Expansion Pack Secret Weapons sicher wert sein.

Secret Weapons of WWII Multiplayer Demo Information Get ready for a World War II experience like you?ve never imagined. Weapons and vehicles from the Allied and Axis laboratories are about to see combat for the first time in the demo for Battlefield 1942?: Secret Weapons of WWII, the incredible new expansion pack for the 2002 Game of the Year.
In 1944, the locals of a small Dutch town named Hellendoorn witnessed an odd site on an almost daily basis: a huge missile rising from the forest on a tower of fire and smoke. The Germans had aimed most of these powerful V2 rockets at Antwerp, but now they have a new target: the bridge at Remangen, Germany. If they can destroy this bridge, they can slow down the Allied advance across the Rhine River and into the heart of Germany. Can the Germans launch its missile in time to defeat the Allied campaign? In the all-new Hellendoorn mission, just one of eight new campaigns in Secret Weapons of WWII, the fate of the war is in your hands.
The demo also unleashes the power of ten of the 16 new weapons in Secret Weapons of WWII. Fly and fight at the same time with the experimental German rocket pack, or buzz the skies in one of the new compact dynamo fighter planes?the Axis Natter rocket plane or the Allied F-85 Goblin. Both the Axis and Allies also have new motorcycles with machine gun-mounted sidecars, as well as amphibious assault vehicles: the German Schwimmwagen and the American LVT-2 Water Buffalo. The new Axis Flakpanzer, a T-38 tank with an anti-aircraft gun mounted on top, is a nasty beast?but it looks tame compared to the Allies? Sherman tank with a T-34 Calliope rocket launcher.
With all this plus new hand-held weapons such as silenced SMGs, new assault rifles, and deadly throwing knives, become a deadly force on the most intense virtual battlefields ever created.
