Interview mit Goetterfunke
BF42.com hat ein Interview mit dem ehemaligen Mod Leader von Eve of Destruction Entwickler-Team und neuem Member des Desert Combat Dev Team Goetterfunke veröffentlicht:
BF42.com: Did the fact that EA is creating a game based on the Vietnam War Conflict, have any effect on your decision to leave the EOD team?
Goetterfunke: Yes to some extent. It is hard to see someone does the same work on a better engine with new features that we don?t have access to, but I understand their decision. Vietnam is the best sequel to Battlefield, so we are thinking the same way. Also, I think they have planned that sequel way before EoD was even founded.
BF42.com: What skills will you be bringing to the Desert Combat Team?
Goetterfunke: I joined for modeling, skinning and coding, though I don?t like BF coding that much, but I sometimes had to code things for the EoD infantry. I didn?t like the BF infantry feel so I worked one night through to add smoke FX, try out new recoil settings etc. I was happy when people agreed with me that EoD infantry is more fun, but I think I?m heading away from the question ?
BF42.com: What do you believe will happen to EOD and the team itself? Do you feel they will simply stop production on the mod, or will they continue to 20% as planned?
Goetterfunke: Well, the rest of the team is very small, and it is already being split apart by some external people, so the future is dark but theres a chance for 20%.
BF42.com: How many people are currently working on the DC team? Is anyone else from EOD moving over to DC with you?
Goetterfunke: Some are interested, but it is DC's decision if they can use more members or not. At this time I do not have a clear cut answer on that one
BF42.com: As far as graphics and object creation go with the current BattleField engine, can we expect even bigger and better things to be implemented into the DC mod down the road, or has the DC team reached its current limit of advancements?
Goetterfunke: DC has just started. From what I know, you can expect a lot of gameplay improvements in the future. The team is working very hard, and there is so much great stuff to come.
BF42.com: In its current state, can we expect more maps to be made with future patches, or is more focus being attentioned to gameplay and balancing issues?
Goetterfunke: From what I know, the focus is on improving gameplay, adding a lot of great new maps and redoing some old stuff. E.g. the F16 was redone and looks so perfect now
BF42.com: Why does eod need a SDK and DC doesn?t? If not having an SDK is hurting EOD why would not having an SDK not hurt DC? Does the DC team get more leave way or respect from EA then EOD would?
Goetterfunke: Its about what you need it for and what you planned. EoD was planned different, and actually would fit better for an engine like BF:Vietnam has. DC was planned to be customizable in BF without the need of an SDK, of course having a SDK for DC could open up a lot more doors. What people must understand is that an SDK was never promised and we have no right to blame anyone for not having one.
BF42.com: In conclusion, do you feel DC will be a mod we will see having a bright long future?
Goetterfunke: Yes, very much so. The DC team is highly motivated to give their best. The staff from DC, EoD, FH and GC are all friends, making mods in our free time and we would be nothing without supporters as rexman, mosley and our fans. We want to thank you for all comments and suggestions, it helps us a lot to get the things done right. Thats all for now, and thanks for all the fish.
mal einfach gesagt. . . und geraten aber würde meiner Meinung nach passen
